Golden Cross Ministry is for older adults with
limited income who live in Wesley Senior Housing.
It provides for both basic needs and small extras
Community Easter Egg Hunt is held for
neighborhood children every spring.
Grace Place Ministries is for women
incarcerated at Mark Luttrell Correction Center. The
Rev. Diane Harrison formed a church within the
prison. We support that ministry with visits and
financial gifts
Dental Care for the World is led by Dr.
Solomon Christian, a dentist at GSUMC. He, with
the help of others, has set up a teaching clinic to
train nurses to be dental nurse practitioners.
Helping Hands is our fund to help those with
emergency needs who come to the church for help.
Archery is taught every Wednesday night at 6:30
free of charge by Karen and John Gunterman,
certified teachers. It is open to all ages for anyone
in the community.
Lakeshore Assembly is on the Tennessee River near
Eva, TN. It is a retreat and camping center for West TN.
Our archery program, complete with teachers, go there
every summer.
Vacation Bible School is held for neighborhood children
every summer. It is a four night event with Bible stories,
crafts, music, and recreation.
20/20 - UMC Vision Ministry collects glasses and
sunglasses to be taken to countries in Central and South
America for the poor who need the protection.
Missions include: United Methodist Neightborhood
Centers for the urban poor, Providing volunteers for Shelby
Oaks Elementary School, Support to the Bibles for China
Thrift Store
